The SuperSplitting Calculator is an easy to use tool for complex actuarial calculations prescribed by the new super splitting laws. The super splitting laws prescribe formulas for the valuation of superannuation interests.

You can use the calculator to calculate a value in accordance with the Regualtions in relation to:

The SuperSplitting Calculator has been actuarially certified by the Heron Partnership. It has all tables and calculations built in.

All that is required is the entry of basic factual data and the answer is provided.

CALCULATOR EXAMPLE

Defined Benefit Lump Sum

1. The husband has a superannuation interest in the company plan. You are acting for the wife and she informs you that the husband has been in the company superannuation fund for nearly 20 years and he was born on 6 August 1960.

2. The wife signs the Form 6 declaration and the authority for the return of information to the solicitor's office.

3. The Superannuation Information Kit and Form 6 are returned with the following information:

a. Salary: $64,555
b. Accrued Benefit Multiple (Lump Sum) 4.23156
c. Relevant Date(The date for valuation) 6 February 2003
d. Maximum Retirement Age 60
e. Preserved amount $156,105.30
f. Unrestricted Non-preserved amount $117,063.06
